IT stands for Information Technology. As the name suggests, this branch is related with the processing of information using technology. In broad sense, it is the study of computers. Basically, Information Technology is a branch which is concerned with the study of softwares that make hardware run.  Information Technology is a branch of immense importance in the prent world. It is quite impossible to think of a world without computers and similarly, it is impossible to think of computers without softwares.

With the increase in modernization, the dependency of human on computers has increased a lot. Thus, the need for IT professional has increased.

The courses in Information Technology aims at providing good concept of the software he is working with. The major focus is on creating sound knowledge of the subject matter.
A course in Information Technology also develops the thinking aptitude among the students. It aims at transforming a candidate into an IT professional.

Course Outlook:

Correspondence course in Information Technology is available at various level of study. There are short term certificate course as well as full time long term bachelo’s or master’s level programs.

Certificate Courses:

There are a variety of certificate or diploma courses available in the field of Information Technology. These certificate courses aims at providing the student with a more in depth knowledge in the subject. Some of the main certificate courses include JAVA , ORACLE, Dot Net, C, C++, etc. The eligibility criteria for doing a certificate course are laid by the institute itself.

Bachelor’s Level Courses:

It is a three year course dedicated to full time study of Information Technology. In order to pursue a B.Sc in IT, one has to pass the higher secondary school certificate exam from any recognized board. The candidate mush have mathematics in their higher secondary schooling.

Master’s Level Courses:

It is generally of two year duration. This course is meant for those who wan’t to have great indepth knowledge on the subject. After doing this course the candidate can go into research line also.  Some correspondence education provider institutes also provide doctorate level courses in Information technology in distance learning mode.
