IGNOU BCA Semester I Papers
There are people who cannot do any educational course on a regular basis. For them IGNOU provides lots of opportunities in the distant learning way. IGNOU provides a Bachelor of Computer Applications course for those who cannot pursue it on a regular basis. The course is recognized by AICTE and UGC. Study materials are sent home. These materials are prepared by eminent faculty.
Eligibility for the course is 10+2 with Mathematics as a distinct subject. Candidate without mathematics as a distinct subject in class 12 needs to register for both CIC and MTE-03 alongside the 1st semester of BCA. These candidates are required to successfully complete CIC and MTE-03 before they can register for the 3rd semester of BCA. The minimum duration of the course is 3 years. After first year of study there is no provision of extending the counseling and practical second and third year automatically.
The programme structure for BCA first semester is as follows.
There are three papers- Foundation Course in English for Computing (CS-610), Foundation Course in Humanities and Social Sciences (FHS-01), Computer Fundamentals and PC Software (CS-611).
The papers are in two parts- Assignment and Term End Examination. Students have to submit the assignments after solving them at their homes only while the university conducts the term end examination twice a year.
