College of Engineering, Guindy
Though the college is 200 years old, College of Engineering, Guindy started technical education only in the year 1978. But still this college stands among the oldest engineering colleges in India. Nearly every engineering aspirant has a dream of studying in this college, but only a handful of them get selected. This college also takes a keen interest in research and will help those students who see a future in research.
Courses Offered: The institute offers undergraduate engineering degree in the fields of Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Printing Technology. This institute also offers post graduate degree in subjects like Remote Sensing, Environment Engineering, Geo Informatics and many more.
Infrastructure: This institute has a great campus which is evident from their classrooms, libraries and laboratories. All the labs and computer centers are well furnished with the modern technologies. The library has many books and new additions are made every now and then to quench the thirst of the intellectual.
Placement: The College has a strong placement cell which helps the student in getting good companies. The placement cell has good contact with many top notch companies. Nearly all the students get placed during the placements. There are several students who get more than one jobs.
Admission Procedure: The admission to the engineering branches of this college is strictly through AIEEE and TNPCEE. A student must secure a merit position in these examinations to be eligible for this college.
