Admission Procedure for M.E/M.Tech in Chennai

IIT Madras is one of the reputed institutes offering M.E/M.Tech courses in Chennai. IIT’s admissions are usually done on the basis of GATE score. Non GATE candidates who have completed B.Tech from IIT’s can also apply. Such candidates must have scored more than 80% marks in the qualifying examination. SC/ST candidates are required to score 75% marks only.

Institutes like Anna University and Rajalakshmi Engineering College offers admission on the basis of TANCET score. Dr.MGR Education & Research Institute (MGR University) conducts own entrance test (Dr MGR University Entrance Examination (MGREEE)) for the selection process. Also, all of these colleges give first preference to candidates with adequate GATE score. Non GATE candidates can seek admissions via TANCET or University based entrance test.

Those having at least 60% marks in B.E/B.Tech can apply for master level courses at SRM University. Here also admissions are done after evaluating candidate’s performance in GATE or TANCET.
