Eligibility Criteria for Administrative Officer Recruitment in General Insurance Companies

General Insurance Companies has reported job vacancies in ‘Generalist’ and ‘Specialist’ streams. Recruitment to specialist streams is made in any of the following subjects.

• Automobile Engineering
• Engineering
• Finance
• Generalist
• Information Technology
• Legal
• Librarian
• Marketing

Graduates in any discipline from any of the reputed Universities can apply for Generalist stream. Specific educational qualifications are required Specialist Officer Stream.

For Finance stream, the applicant must hold any of the following educational qualifications.

• Chartered Accountant (ICAI)
• Master of Commerce
• Bachelor of Commerce with MBA (Finance)
• Cost Accountant (ICWA)

For marketing stream, applicant must hold Bachelor degree in any subject + MBA degree with marketing area of specialization. 

For engineering stream, applicant must hold Bachelor degree in Engineering in any of the engineering subjects.

For automobile engineering stream, the applicant must hold any of the following educational qualifications.

• B.E./B.Tech degree in Automobile Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering Degree + PG Diploma in Automobile Engineering

For Information Technology stream, applicant must hold Bachelor degree in streams of Information Technology or Computer Science.

Bachelor degree holders in Agricultural Science can apply for the profile of Agriculture Specialist.

Bachelor’s degree in Library Science is the necessary qualification to apply for the job profile of Librarian

Graduates in Law can apply for the stream of Law

Age of the applicant must fall between 21 and 30 years. Category wise relaxation in age can be expected by reserved category candidates.

Exam Pattern for Administrative Officer Recruitment in General Insurance Companies

For Generalist Stream

Written test conducted for the selection of ‘Administrative Officer’ comprises of objective as well as descriptive model questions. Questions are asked from the following topics.

• Reasoning – 25 Marks
• English Language — 25 Marks
• General Awareness — 25 Marks
• Numerical Ability & Computer Literacy– 25 Marks

Apart from this, there will be a descriptive session containing questions related to essay, précis, and comprehension. This session carries 50 marks. Total duration for the test is 180 minutes.

For Specialist Stream

Written test conducted for Specialist stream is slightly different from Generalist stream. An additional section based on technical knowledge is added under objective model session.

• Reasoning – 20 Marks
• English Language — 20 Marks
• General Awareness — 20 Marks
• Numerical Ability & Computer Literacy– 20 Marks
• Technical Knowledge – 20 Marks

Descriptive session and time duration for the test are same as that for Specialist stream.
