Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Design or PGFD is one among the post graduate courses offered at Pearl Academy of Fashion. The course is offered at four different centers of Pearl, located in New Delhi, Noida, Jaipur and Chennai. Each of these centers has an intake capacity of 30 for PGFD course. Selection to this limited number of seats is done through three steps namely, General Proficiency Test (GPT), Design Aptitude Test (DAT), and Situational Test.

Admission Procedure of PGFD in Pearl Academy of Fashion

Graduation from a recognized University (in any stream) is the basic eligibility required to study Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Design. Selection of eligible candidates is done through a three step process.

• General Proficiency Test (GPT)
• Design Aptitude Test (DAT)
• Situational Test

In General Proficiency Test (GPT), one can expect questions from English language. Language proficiency of the candidate is evaluated by having questions on comprehension, vocabulary, verbal ability, etc. The section also covers questions on basic mathematics and arithmetic ability.

Second stage of selection process is Design Aptitude Test (DAT). Creative drawing and designing skills of the candidate are evaluated in this stage. There will be separate cut off for both GPT and DAT. Those who can score above this cut off level move to the third level test i.e. situational test.

In situational test, candidate is provided with sample materials. Using these materials, they should develop a brief design within the allotted time frame. The work can be done as a group activity by collaborating with other candidates of the team. Those who can demonstrate their designing and creative skills in this section will be selected to the next level. Next section is the personal interview section. Final decision on admission is made on the basis of the score of the candidates in this section.

• Laboratory, Resource Centre & Library Charges: Rs. 11,000/- per semester
• Tuition Fee: Rs. 63,500/- per semester
• Examination Fee: Rs. 7,500/- per semester

Noida

• Registration & Admission Fee: Rs. 25,000/- per semester
• Laboratory, Resource Centre & Library Charges: Rs. 13,000/- per semester
• Tuition Fee: Rs. 76,500/- per semester
• Examination Fee: Rs. 7,500/- per semester

Jaipur

• Registration & Admission Fee: Rs. 25,000/- per semester

At the time of admission, students are required to pay tuition fee, Laboratory, Resource Centre & Library Charges, etc for first semester. Registration and Admission fee must also be paid at the time of admission. Fee for other three semesters must be paid 10 days prior to the commencement of each semester.
