Maharshi Dayanand University offers M.A degree programs in streams of Economics, Fine Arts, History, Hindi, etc. Selection of candidates to the course is done either on the basis of academic merit or academic merit cum entrance test. Entrance test is usually organized by the concerned department of MD University.

Admission procedure for M.A courses in Maharshi Dayanand University

Admission and eligibility criteria depend on the course selected. Candidates having minimum 45% marks are eligible to apply for Master of Arts in Defense & Strategic Studies or Master of Arts in Education. Admission to these courses is done on the basis of academic merit.

For certain courses, the University conduct an entrance test for selection purpose. Candidates with the general ability (as mentioned above) can apply for M.A degree in Economics, Hindi English, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Sanskrit, Journalism and Mass Communication, etc. Such candidates must also qualify the entrance test conducted by the University.

Syllabus of the entrance test is based on the topics covered at bachelor degree level. There will be 100 questions for this entrance test. Each question carries 1 mark. Time allotted for the completion of the test is 75 minutes.

Bachelor degree holders with minimum 45% marks and with music as one of the subjects can apply for M.A in Music. Selection of eligible candidates is done on the basis of academic merit and marks obtained in entrance exam.

Those having minimum 45% marks in HSC can apply for 5-year integrated honors degree in Economics, English, etc. Admission in these cases is offered on the basis of academic merit.

Each candidate can apply for at most four courses. Entrance test fee (for one course) amounts to Rs. 200/-. For each additional course, candidate should make an extra payment of Rs. 50/-. Other than this candidate must pay Rs. 400/- for collecting application form. Application form can be collected through any of the following methods.

Application fee for candidates collecting application via postal method is Rs. 500/- Fee can be paid in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Finance Officer of the University.  Filled up applications must be submitted either via postal or online method.
