Admission Procedure for MCA in BIT, Mesra

Degree qualified candidates having obtained a minimum of 60% marks at 10th, 12th and graduation can apply for MCA degree at BIT, Mesra. Such candidates must have obtained the qualification with mathematics or statistics as subjects. Candidates for admission to the course are selected on the basis of an online entrance test conducted by the institute. The test is conducted in objective model covering questions on Analytical ability, Computer Awareness and Mathematics.

Eligibility Criteria for MCA in BIT, Mesra

Eligible candidate must have completed bachelor’s degree from any of the recognized University. Bachelor’s degree obtained must be

  • Bachelor of Computer Applications
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or
  • Bachelor of Science in Electronics

B.Sc holders having studied mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects can also apply. All such qualifications must be obtained with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.

Candidate should also have completed 10th and 12th class exam with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Aggregate marks in 12th class are calculated as the average 4 core subjects (English, Mathematics and other two core subjects).

Those having obtained the qualification through distance education mode are also accepted, provided the qualification must be recognized by the DEC-IGNOU.

Selection Procedure for MCA at BIT, Mesra

Total intake capacity of the course is 60. Among this, 50% of the seats are reserved for students from Jharkhand. Rest of the seats can be occupied by students across India. Selection of suitable candidates is done on the basis of an online entrance test. This is a two hour test that comprise of 120 objective model questions. Questions asked for the test will be from the following subject areas.

  • English
  • Mathematics

Out of the total of 120 questions, 60 questions will be asked from mathematics. Other sections include 20 questions each.
