Admission to MCA in Birla University of Technology (BIT), Mersa is made on the basis of an online entrance test and marks obtained in 10^th, 12^th, and graduation. BCA or B.Sc (with Statistics/Mathematics as one of the subjects) holders with a minimum of 50% marks can apply. For the students of semester 1 and 2, total fee for tuition fee, registration fee, institute exam fee, and library fees amounts to Rs. 70500/- per semester.

Eligibility Criteria for MCA in BIT, Mersa

Candidates should hold Bachelor Degree/equivalent from a recognized University and must be in 10+2+3 system. Such candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2/equivalent (for SC/ST 45%) for an average of all subjects. They should have studied any of the subjects of Computer Science, Information Practice, or Mathematics.

Graduation must be obtained with courses such as BCA and B.Sc (with Statistics/Mathematics as one of the subjects). The qualification must be obtained with a minimum of 50% marks (for SC/ST 45%).

Candidates waiting to appear final examinations of Bachelor’s Programme can apply provided that they should possess required marks/equivalent (above mentioned). The selection will be on the basis of latest marks/grades obtained at the time of applying and join provisionally for the programme if selected. During admission process such candidate should bring original certificate from the Principal of Institute which should state that the particular candidate have appeared for examination  in all subjects required to obtain Bachelor’s Degree by 30 June 2013 and the candidate has obtained required marks/equivalent (above mentioned) on the basis of latest available marks/grades (Confirmation of admission will be done only after the submission of mark sheet and certificate of Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent).

Candidates from distance education/correspondence programme can also apply if they satisfy the following conditions

• Programmes are DEC-IGNOU recognized
• They passed qualifying examination with minimum 50% (for SC/ST 45%)

Admission Procedure for MCA in BIT, Mersa

The selection will be based on the marks obtained from MCA 2013 online Entrance Test and fulfillment of above said eligibility criteria. The weightage will be 60% for the performance in MCA 2013 Online Entrance Test, 10% for the marks in class 10, 10% for the marks in class 12 and 20% for the marks in Graduation.

Application Process MCA in BIT, Mersa

Eligible candidates can complete and submit online application form through the website of BIT, Mersa. The print out of completed application form, attached with 2 recent colour photographs, mark sheet, certificate copies, and crossed DD of Rs 1200/- (Rs. 800/- for SC/ST) must be sent to the office address of BIT. DD taken must be in favour of Birla Institute of Technology payable at Ranchi.

Fees Structure MCA in BIT, Mersa

For the students of semester 1 and 2, fee amount is Rs. 70500/- which include tuition fee, registration fee, institute exam fee, library and other student facilities.  For hostel room rent, general maintenance and electricity, fee amount required is Rs. 11500/-.  An amount of Rs. 20000/- should be given for onetime payment of admission fee and refundable caution deposit.

For the students of semester 3 and 4, the fee amount required to pay is Rs. 76500/- which include tuition fee, registration fee, institute exam fee, library and other student facilities.  In this case, the fees for hostel room rent, general maintenance and electricity is Rs. 12000/- .

For the students of semester 5 amount payable are Rs. 82500/- which include tuition fee, registration fee, institute exam fee, library and other student facilities. Fee for hostel room rent, general maintenance and electricity is Rs. 13000/- .

For the students of semester 6 amount payable consist of  Rs. 85500/- which include tuition fee, registration fee, institute exam fee, library and other student facilities + Rs. 13000/- as hostel room rent, general maintenance and electricity.

Hostel fee is applicable only to students of main campus at Mesra
