Admission to Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration in Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Ahmedabad is carried out on the basis of scores obtained in Joint Entrance examination (JEE). Higher Secondary education from a recognized board of examination is the minimum educational qualification required. Those who have studied English as a subject are only eligible to apply. Upper age limit for this course is 22 years.

Eligibility Criterion for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have passed higher secondary examination from any of the below mentioned board are eligible to apply for Bachelors programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration in IHM, Ahmedabad.

  • Plus two level examination from Central/ State recognized Board of studies
  • Two year intermediate or Pre University Examination
  • Higher Secondary Examination in India or in foreign country recognized by Association of Indian Universities
  • Vocational Higher Secondary Examination
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University
  • Senior Secondary School Examination Conducted by National Open School

Candidates should have studied English as one of the subjects in Higher Secondary Course. Final year candidates can also apply for this course.

Age Restrictions

Those who are more than 22 years of age at the time of admission are not eligible to apply. Upper age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribe is 25 years. Physically challenged candidates can enjoy the relaxation in terms of age as per the norms issued by the Government of India.

Apart from these, candidates are required to be physically fit as per the notification issued by the Institute. They will have to submit physical fitness certificate issued by a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format.

Admission Procedure for B.Sc in H & HA in IHM, Ahmedabad

The Institute considers the score of national level entrance exam, All India Written Joint Entrance examination (JEE), conducted by National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology. There will be a total of two hundred questions in this exam. Candidates can expect objective type questions. Of these 30 questions will be asked from each of the following sections.

  • Numerical Ability and Scientific Aptitude
  • Aptitude for Service Sector
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • Reasoning and Logical Deduction

Remaining 80 questions will be asked from English Language. Maximum time allotted for the entire test is three hours.

Final selection will be on the basis of performance in entrance test and submission of original documents at the time of admission.
