Andhra University, Visakhapatnam
Andhra University in Vishakhapatnam aims at providing world class education to students who want to make a successful career for themselves. It is the first university which introduced the concept of residential and teaching cum affiliating university. Andhra University offers 313 courses in Arts, Commerce, Science & Technology, Management, Engineering Law, Education and Pharmacy. With 23 hostels for men with an accommodating capacity of around 3200 students and 10 dedicated hostels for women with a capacity of around 2000 students, this university offers equal opportunity to all to learn and pursue higher education. There are two hostels specifically for foreign students only. This university aims at providing education to all and so many hostels with specific features makes this university a special destination for out station and foreign candidates.
The facilities given to students here include infrastructural features like:

2. Computer Center
3. Press and Publication Division
4. 25 research institutions within its campus etc
Apart from so many facilities, Andhra University also has its own distance learning program for students who cannot change their base for education purposes. Distance education includes 4 under graduate, 18 post graduate, 5 certification courses, 9 post graduate diploma courses, 15 professional courses and 7 collaborative courses. This clearly shows that this university is giving a wide variety of courses for distance education students as well.
It is important to notice that Andhra University has got 636 affiliated colleges within five districts which come under Andhra Pradesh jurisdiction. The Colleges of Arts and Commerce is the largest when compared with the remaining five constituent colleges of Andhra University. The rest four are college of science & Technology, College of Engineering, College of Law and College of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
