A.V.C. College is a pioneer in engineering college and is the first self financing college in Nagapattinam district of Tamilnadu. This institute is managed by A.V.Charities and was established in the year 1996. The charity also runs AVC College (autonomous) and another polytechnic college. The vision of this institute is to make this college a centre for academic excellence. A.V.C. College is affiliated to Anna University, Trichy.

The campus holds a big library with enormous collection of books, CD’s and journals and is operated by OPAC technology and bar coding software. The college has a high power generator for functioning during power cut. Transport comes in the form of 11 buses which collects students from the neighboring districts also.

Admission and Eligibility:

Admission to all the engineering courses is guided by the norms of the Anna University, Chennai. The admission test is conducted as per the norms of Tamil Nadu Government and the selection is made on the merit list of marks obtained in admission test and qualifying examination.

The minimum eligibility for entering B.E. is a pass in 10 + 2 with 55% marks in total and 200 marks in aggregate in the main subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For the candidates belonging to reserved categories marks and percentage are relaxed.

Placement:

The placement cell of this college is governed by a placement officer who keeps touch with the corporate offices and other organizations. The cell provides a platform for the students to get to know about the office environment and it acts as a bridge between the industry and the students.
