B.S. Patel Polytechnic came into existence in the year 1999 on the month of August and the institute is the first self-financing institute in the northern Gujarat offering diploma courses in engineering. The institute is run by the Mehsana District Education Foundation, which runs Ganpat University as well. The college is located in the sprawling campus of Ganpat Vidyanagar, which includes several other institutions as well within the same campus.

Courses offered:

B. S Patel Polytechnic offers diploma courses in two sessions namely morning session and evening session. The morning session courses offered by the institute are accredited by the NBA and the list of diploma courses offered in the morning and in the evening session is given below:

Morning session courses:

Evening Session Courses:

In the evening session, B.S. Patel Polytechnic offers the same diploma courses as in the morning session and the only extra course offered in the evening session is Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Admission Criteria:

The centralized admission committee constituted by the Gujarat Government fills up 75% of the total seats on merit basis and remaining 25% of the seats are management quota seats that are also filled on merit basis. This admission process is applicable both to morning session and to evening session courses.

Library at the institute:

B.S. Patel Polytechnic has a well-equipped library with lots of reference books and textbooks belonging to competitive examination, general and engineering disciplines. The library is also subscribing for a number of periodicals and journals and it has CDs, audio cassettes and video cassettes on various subjects to enable the students to learn themselves.
