Campus placement procedure of ABB limited
ABB limited is one of the leading companies in Power and Automation technologies. It recruits fresh engineers through on campus as well as off campus placements process. Candidates who have completed engineering degree with good academic records are eligible to apply. Selection procedure includes screening test, group discussion and technical interview. Candidates can expect questions related to their academics in the screening test as well as in technical interview.
Eligibility Criterion
Candidates who have completed Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor in Engineering are eligible to apply. Candidates need a score of 80 % marks’ in aggregate to be eligible. Apart from these, they should have excellent communication as well as interaction skills. Candidates having backlogs are not eligible to apply. Candidates who have completed their studies in regular/ full time programme are only eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure
Selection procedure includes three steps. They are
- Screening test
- Technical Interview
- Graduate Assessment centre
Eligible candidates will have to clear the screening test. This is the first step in recruitment process. Candidates can expect objective type multiple choice questions. Most of the questions will be from the academics. Apart from these, there will be questions from quantitative aptitude, general knowledge, etc.
There will be twenty questions from verbal section which have to be answered in 20 minutes. Analytical section contains 20 questions and the time duration for this section is twenty five minutes. Technical section will contain 60 questions which should be completed in 60 minutes. Most of the questions in technical section will be from Electronics and Electrical Engineering. Candidates can expect questions from topics such as switchgears and circuit breaker etc. Usually the screening test is conducted in online mode. There will be sectional cut off. Candidates who have cleared the screening test will be shortlisted for group discussion.
Group discussion is conducted to measure candidate’s ability to prove a point and debate on a point. Apart from this, candidates’ communication skills, speaking ability and topic awareness will be evaluated in this section.
Candidates can expect questions from academics in personal interview. Candidates are advised to refresh various topics coming under their area of specialization. Apart from this, questions will be asked from the final project. The interview focuses the interpersonal skill and problem solving skills of the candidate. Candidates should prepare their resume in the best possible way as it plays a crucial role in the final interview.
