Campus Placement Procedure of General Electric
General Electric conducts campus selections through written test, technical and HR interview. B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech graduates in subjects like Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Instrumentation & Control Engineering can participate in the selection process. Written test is conducted to analyze the aptitude skill and subject knowledge of the candidate. Questions from topics like fundamentals of programming languages, coding and decoding and number series will be asked for the written test. Selected candidates in this section should go through technical and HR interview.
Eligibility Criteria for Campus Placement in General Electric
Engineering graduates with academic excellence can try for a technical job in GE. Campus placement is usually conducted for B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech holders having completed the qualification from a recognized educational institution. Required qualification should be obtained in any of the following subjects with consistent percentage of 65% marks (minimum).
- Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Fresh candidates with good domain knowledge, communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills are usually preferred for selection. Those with pending papers/backlogs during the course of study are not eligible to apply.
Campus Placement Procedure of General Electric
Selection of eligible candidate is done through three steps.
- Written Test
- Technical Interview
- HR Interview
Written test comprises of technical as well as aptitude questions. There will be a total of 60 questions, 50 questions from aptitude section and 10 questions from subject knowledge. Aptitude questions will be asked from the following topics.
- Ages
- Area of Triangle
- Average
- Boats and Streams
- Calendar
- Clock
- Coding and Decoding
- Time and Distance
- Number Series
- Probability
- Ratio
- Profit and Loss
- Simple and Compound Interest
For technical section, questions will be asked from the basic concepts of C and C++. Heat transfer, thermal diffusivity, strength of materials, etc are some other topics included under the syllabus of technical test.
Those who qualify the written test will be considered for technical interview. This is an elimination round and questions asked for the section will be based on the subject area of specialization. Qualified candidates in this round can move to HR interview section. Here, one can expect normal HR questions like career objective of the candidate, his or her family details and company details. Communication skills, Personality, ability to afford work stress, etc are basically evaluated through this section.
Recruitments are done through on campus/ off campus methods. Interested candidates with required eligibility should register for the same before deadline date.
