There is no prescribed educational qualification but still you are required to have a good sense of beauty and imagination. However it is always advantageous to have a diploma in beauty treatment or hair treatment course. This field demands more of practical skills than educational qualification so more hands on experience you have the better it will be for your career.

Job Prospects:

Just like every other field cosmetology is wider term which is further divided into many diverse fields such as beauty therapy, hair styling, make-up, massage, facials, manicure, pedicure, electrolysis, herbal beauty care and few others also. There are not many fields in which you can specialize in more than streams at the same time but in this field this is possible and it happens quite often. If you are a well versed beauticians, makeup artist or even hair stylist you can find yourself a place in fashion and advertisement industry and there is no need to mention the demand in the television and theatre industry.

Salary:

The salary you get totally depends upon the size of the business firm you are associated with. Depending upon your name and fame and also on the aforementioned factor you can anywhere between Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 for a days work but this is not the maximum limit, you can earn much more.
