State Bank of India is considered as one of the largest banking and financial services company present in the country. The bank has its headquarter located in Mumbai. The bank was founded in the year 1955 under Government of India. The bank actually came into existence when the Imperial Bank of India was nationalized by Reserve Bank of India and it was renamed to State Bank of India. The bank is best known for providing a range of banking products with a vast network of branches spreaded in India as well as overseas. Mr. Pratip Chaudhary is the present Chairman of the bank.

Job Profile:

State Bank of India is making a special recruitment drive for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, for filling up the vacant positions of Clerical Cadre in various states of India. Only eligible Indian Citizens are invited to apply for the specified posts. Vacancies are available in the states of Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Himchal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Andhra pradesh, West Bengal, A&N Islands, Sikkim, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Eligibility:

The minimum age limit set for the post is 18 years as on 1 December 2011.
The maximum age limit set for the post is 28 years as on 1 December 2011.

However, candidates falling under SC/ST categories will get relaxation of atleast 5 yeears in the age criteria. Candidates belonging to OBC category will get relaxation of minimum 3 years in the upper age limit. Candidates should be born between 30 November 1983 and 1 December 1993.

Educational Qualification:

The minimum educational qualification required for applying for Clerical Cadre posts in State bank of India is 12th standard passed or equivalent with minimum 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized board. Candidates with Graduate degree from a recognized university are also eligible to apply for the specified posts. Those candiates who have done full time Diploma Course after 10th standard, are also eligible to apply.

No. of posts: Total 2500 posts are available.

Vacancies for SC category candidates: 1150 posts are available.
Vacancies for ST category candidates: 750 posts are available.
Vacancies for OBC category candidates: 600 posts are available.

Pay Scale: Selected candidates will be given the consolidated salary of Rs. 7200-19300 per month.

Application Fee:

Interested candidates must pay the prescribed amount of application fee before applying online. The amount of application fee is need to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India through a deposit slip. The deposit slip can be downloaded from the webiste of bank. The reciept of the deposit slip, should be retained by the candidates for future purpose. The amount of application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Ex-Serviceman candidates is Rs. 50 only.

Selection Process:

Final selection of candidates will ba made through the conduct of a Written examination followed by a personal interview test. Both written test and interview test, will be taken on the same date i.e. 18 March 2012.

How to apply: Applications must be made online only at the website of State Bank of India. Candidates will be allowed to apply online from 28 December 2011 onwards. Interested candidates should apply online on or before the last date for the reciept of online application.
