Cochin University of Science and Technology is one of the very best universities in the country. Students from all over the country flock into this university to pursue their professional courses. The university offers B.Tech in Information Technology. Students of Information technology, during the 4th semester of the course have to learn communication engineering. They have to write its exam at the end of the semester.

Paper pattern
The paper does not contain any sections. The paper is totally descriptive and there are no objective questions. The paper consists of a total of 10 questions. Five questions have to be answered by the candidates. Internal choices are available within each question. Three sub questions are present within a question. Within a question, the candidates have to answer all the questions. All the questions are essay type. There are no numerical problems in the paper. Some questions require the candidates to present diagrams while answering.
Duration of paper and marking scheme
The duration of the paper is 3 hours. The candidates, in addition to this, will be given 15 minutes for perusing the question paper and for clearing their doubts regarding any question.
The paper is for a total of 100 marks. A candidate needs to score at least 35% to pass. There are 10 questions in the paper and the candidates need to answer any 5. Each question carries 20 marks. The mark allotted to a sub question will depend on the number of sub questions in that question.
