Admission Procedure

Candidates who have completed higher secondary course with Physics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply. Admission to bachelors’ degree in Physics is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Admission to post graduate level course in Physics varies according to college. Most of the institutions/ Universities conduct entrance exams for admission procedure. For instance National Institute of Technology Karnataka carries out admission on the basis of entrance exam and personal interview. Candidates who have passed Bachelor of Physics with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate are eligible to apply in this institute. Final selection is based on the marks obtained in qualifying exam and entrance exam conducted by the department of Physics. Christ University carries out admission on the basis of performance in X, XII and Degree and counseling.

Candidates who seek admission to Ph.D in Physics are required to take the entrance exam conducted by the University concerned. Admission in Jain University is based on scores obtained in Pre Ph.D. Entrance examination and interview. Entrance exam will contain aptitude test and Subject paper. Those who have cleared national level tests such as UGC NET and CSIR are exempted from this written test. Admission in IISc is based on CSIR-UGC NET/ DBT JRF/ CMR JRF or IISc Entrance Test.
