Daulat Ram College for Women is affiliated to university of Delhi and it was established in the year of 1960. Initially, the name of the college was Pramila College and it got its present name in honor of its founder and educationist Shri Daulat Ram Gupta. The present name was awarded to the college in the year 1964, when it was shifted to its present campus at Patel Marg at the north campus of Delhi University. The college is considered as a prestigious college for women since it holds a number of track records of distinction not only in educational activities, but also in sports and co-curricular activities. The college is offering under-graduation and post-graduation course in commerce, science and arts through its nineteen departments.

Admission procedure:

Admissions to the undergraduate courses are made on the basis of the percentage of marks secured by the students in the 10+2 or equivalent education. In the case of honors degree courses like B.A, B. Sc and B. Com, the cut-off marks required is fixed every year by the college. The minimum age for getting admitted to the under-graduation courses in 17 years before the 1st of October every year in which the student is seeking admission. Admission is also made on the basis of sports quota.

In the case of admission to post-graduate courses, the candidate should first register herself with the appropriate faculty of the Delhi University. The minimum age of the candidate should be 20 years for post-graduate courses.

Courses:

The College offers B.A. (hons.) in subjects like Music, History, Psychology, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Hindi, Economics and English. B. Sc. (hons.) courses are offered in subjects like Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Biochemistry. B. Com (hons.) is also offered. At master’s level admission is offered for Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Psycology, Political Science, History, Sanskrit, Hindi and English departments.
