Details on NAC - NASSCOM Assessment of Competence
NASSCOM Assessment of Competence has become an accepted qualification for the recruitment to IT Companies. Final year students of BE/ B.Tech and Post Graduates in Computer Applications or Information Technology are eligible to apply for this test. This test is considered as the basic qualification for recruitment to firms such as Cognizant, Wipro, Accenture and HCL and TCS. Questions will be asked from topics related to Technical Knowledge, General English, Numerical Ability and Analytical Ability. Candidates qualifying the test will be given Training and Development through the programme called Global Business Foundation Skills. This training programme is carried out by leading IT firms such as Convergys, Deloitte, IBM and Accenture.
Eligibility Criterion for NASSCOM Assessment of Competence
Candidates who are in the final year of Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology are eligible to apply. Final year candidates who are pursuing Master of Computer Applications/ Master of Science in Information Technology can apply for the test. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60 % marks in aggregate in matriculation and higher secondary examination.
Application Procedure for NASSCOM Assessment of Competence
Candidates who wish to apply for this test are required to register online through the official website of NASSCOM. Prior to this, they are required to make a fee payment of Rs. 350/- and centre fee of Rs 70/-. Fee payment can be done by taking a demand draft from a nationalized bank in favor of ‘Attest Testing Services Ltd.’, payable at Mumbai. They will be asked to create a user name and password for the registration process. Candidates will have to submit all the personal as well as academic details and details of fee payment while filling up the application form. They will have to upload scanned copy of passport size photograph in jpeg or gif format with size less than 1 MB. Candidates who have successfully applied for the test will receive system generated call letter for written test.
Exam Pattern of NASSCOM Assessment of Competence
NASSCOM Assessment of Competence is conducted in online mode through various centers across India. Questions will be asked from the following sections such as
- Analytical ability
- Quantitative ability
- Technical Knowledge
- English Grammar
- Keyboard skills
- Candidates’ Speaking and Listening Skill
Speaking and listening section will contain questions from Vocabulary, Sentence mastery and Pronunciation. Analytical Ability will contain questions such as problem solving and puzzles. Basic arithmetic problems including logic calculations will be asked in Quantitative Ability. Candidate’s knowledge in English Grammar, spellings and punctuation in written communication will be evaluated in General English. In addition to this, there will be questions to measure candidates’ technical knowledge in core area of academics. Time allotted for the entire test is 75 minutes.
