The authority was founded under the provisions of the Delhi Development Act which states to promote and secure the development of the state. The authority was established under the Ministry of Urban Development Delhi. The major objective of the authority is to provide adequate residential and commercial infrastructure facilities to the people residing in the state. The authority is responsible to ensure an organized and structured development of the state.
