Faculty of Management studies is one of the most reputed institute under Delhi University offering various management Programmes. This Institute offers part time and full time MBA Programmes. The duration of the full time programme is two years and the duration of the part time programme will be three years. This institute conducts an entrance test (FMS MBA Test) each year for the selection of eligible candidates for the admission into the MBA courses.

Structure of FMS MBA Test

From the pool of applications, the eligible candidates are invited for a written test. Those who qualify the written test have to attend a group discussion, ex-tempore, and a personal interview. Those who performed well in all the tests will be selected for joining the course. The entrance test includes 200 questions of objective type format. The total mark awarded for the exam will be 800 marks. The time for the exam will be two hours. The questions are mainly to evaluate candidates’ knowledge in different sections like English language, reasoning, quantitative and verbal ability etc.

Syllabus for FMS MBA Test

The FMS MBA test consists of four sections. Each section carries 50 questions of 200 marks. The topics of the exam are given below

Section 1: Quantitative ability (50 Questions) (200 marks)

  • Time-Speed-Distance, Work and time
  • Simple Interest & Compound Interest
  • Set Theory, Venn diagram
  • In-equations, Ratios and Proportion, Ratios, Percentages
  • Quadratic and linear equations
  • Profit & Loss
  • Probability, Permutations & Combination
  • Number system
  • Installment Payments, Partnership, Clocks
  • Geometry
  • Averages, Percentages, Partnership
  • Algebra

Section 2: Verbal ability (50 Questions) (200 marks)

  • Analogies
  • Critical Reasoning

Section 3: English comprehension (50 Questions) (200 marks)

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the MBA full time programme must possess some essential requirements. The candidates who have a bachelor’s degree can apply for the test. 50% marks are required for the Social Science, Arts and Commerce graduates. Science graduates should have 55% marks and Mathematics or Statistics graduates should have 60% of marks. For the candidates who have a Medicine or Engineering should possess 60% marks for applying the test. The students who are going to appear for their final year’s exam are also eligible to apply for the test.

How to Apply?

The institute provides the facility for the online submission of the application form. The interested applicants can visit the Faculty of Management Studies official website www.fms.edu and can register for the test. The online application fee for the general candidates is Rs.700/-. SC/St candidates have to pay Rs.200/- for applying the test. The candidates can pay the fee through net banking services or using credit cards.

How to fill the Form?

The application form with incomplete information will be rejected. The candidates have to follow all instruction s given in the information bulletin. The particulars of the fee payment should be mentioned in the application form. The filled application form should be sent to the he administrative officer, Faculty of management studies, university of Delhi.

Study Plan

The candidates have to prepare a career plan two or three months before the exam. The candidates have to collect the syllabus from the website and the divide the portions into small sections. Try to fix a time frame for completing each section. Give more time to study the most important topic and most difficult topic. Conduct a mock test after covering each section. It helps the candidate to evaluate their own strengths. Give each day some time for reviewing the topics. Try to cover the portions before one week of the exam. At the last week revise each topics and it helps the candidates to remember all important points. It helps them to write the exam without any stress and helps them to score good marks.

How and Where To Get the Results?

The result of the exam will be published in the official website of FMS institute www.fms.edu. The candidates keep on watching the website on a regular basis for obtaining all relevant information about the exam.

Score Validity

The score of the exam will be only valid for getting admission for that particular academic year.
