SCRA is the acronym for Special Class Railway Apprentices . This exam is conducted by the UPSC in the month of January every year.This exam is conducted for selecting best candidates to become a Technical Manager/Engineer for Railways Zone in India.

Important details related to this exam :-

• Total number of seats for this exam is 40 for each year.
• Those candidates who will be selected through this exam will undergone a Technical education course in Mechanical Engineering of 4 years from BIT Mesra.
• After completing your course you will be sended to America for 3 years of Practical Training related to your jobs.
• After selection in this exam,you will get the Scholarship of Amount Rs 8000 per month from the Central Government of India during study period.
• After successful completion of this course you will get the Government job in Indian Railway.

Eligibility requirements for SCRA

Educational qualification :-

• You should have a pass out degree of 10+2 with science stream from recognized university/board.
• Those candidates who are in final year appearing will also able to apply for this exam.
• Your subject combination in 10+2 should be Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Those candidates who have a bachelor degree in Physics/Mathematics can also apply for this exam.

Grade :-

• Candidates who will apply for this exam should have a First Class Division in 10+2/Graduation.

Age :-

• Your minimum age should be 17 years.
• Your age should not be above 21 years.

Age Relaxations :-

• OBC category candidates - 3 years.
• SC/ST Category candidates - 5 years.

Exam Pattern for SCRA Exam

• This exam will include 3 questions sets.
• Each questions set will be of 200 marks.
• Each questions will be of 2 hours.

Exam Syllabus for SCRA Exam

• Set I (General Ability Test) - English Grammar,General Knowledge and Reasoning.

• Set II (Physical Science) - Physics and Chemistry.

• Set III - Mathematics.
