I am in 10th now. I am going to opt for electrical maintenance in 11th and 12th as a bi focal subject and after that will opt for computer in some good institute. is it correct to take electrical maintenance if i want to become a computer engineer?

No, it's not compulsory to take computers in 11th and 12th to do Computer Engineering at Higher Level.

No it is not mandatory to complete 10+2 on computer science to further opt for software engineer career.

But, you must ensure successful completion of 10+2 in physics, chemistry and Math with a minimum of 50% of marks to do Btech in computer science and engineering.

For computer engineering course maths and physics are compulsory.
But one has to appear for chemistry in any entrance exam.
Those who have computer science in class 12, it becomes easy for them to proceed further in this field.
Otherwise , you have to learn computer basics to get into the field.

It is not compulsory to take computer in 11th and 12th to do computer engineering at the higher level. But if you take the computer subject in 11th and 12th, then it will help you to enhance your knowledge of computer.
