Hi, I got it somewhere after google search, and I feel it the best way to choose an optional subject: 1. Interest: Choose a subject that you have an (a) aptitude for and (b) the one in which you have more than just a passing interest. Aspirant should be prepared to spend 100s of hours with the chosen subject. Subject Knowledge: Graduation/post-graduation subject should be taken if you are comfortable with it. That will certainly help in the preparation since you have good knowledge in the subject area. But do not take it if you had only a passing interest in it in college. Availability of Resources: Secondly, find out how easily is the study material, guidance, coaching, etc available in a particular optional subject. Availability of quality guidance makes learning of the subject easy. Before finalizing an optional:

Re: Date of form submission for PCS exam?
When you purchased the form, you should have opened it immediately to fill-up. Now the last date for UPPCS-2012 form submission is over. You will have to wait for next year, and then don't ask in forum when to open the form, but fill-up and send it to UPPSC before the last date of UP-PCS-2013.

Re: Date of form submission for PCS exam?
The UPPCS-2012 Pre Exam is over and I feel you are interested for the UPPCS-2013. Generally the notifications for UPPCS comes in the month of January.
This is the best time to begin the preparation for UPPCS-2013! Go through different optionals, select the two best suited to you, and kick-off your study on GS/CSAT along with the optionals. After notifications and form submission focus only on GS/CSAT (it's what I feel) until Pre Exam. |
