Selection to the BE / B.Tech in genetic engineering course is based on merit i.e the marks secured in the final exams of 10+2 and through entrance exams.

I was a student of Genetic Engineering. After I graduated, the only place I got a job was a call center. Never do MS, M.SC or even try pursuing this course in India. There is no scope for this course yet in India. If you are planning to study abroad and work there, then this is the course for you. If you plan to reside in India and try for a job you will be disappointed. Don't waste your time/money/energy..
