Since you're doing civil engineering.....you should do summer training in any company where you can go by recommendations......because it will not be possible to go through process since it is long procedure
If you want in any institute then you can try in IIT's .....To get in to that, check their sites frequently

for the summer training of b.tech 2nd year students the most important factor is the percentage or the CPI ( CUMULATIVE PERCENTAGE INDEX ) .

the summer training is based on the branch of your engineering course.

DRDO ( defence research and development organization ) offers training or the project course in summer for the different engineering branches like mechanical engineering , electrical engineering , metallurgical engineering , electronics and communication.
