IPS Stands for Indian Police Service And to become IAS Officer You must have to crack the UPSC Civil services examination.

The examination was Held Every year in two Stages, preliminary examination and Main examination, Candidates Must have to crack the Preliminary examination only then they are eligible to Sit in Main Examination.

So, If you are Interested to Become IPS Officer, Then You have to satisfied the Given Eligiblity Criteria -

>> Candidates Must Be Graduate In any Discipline form a recognised University.
>> Age Should Between 21 to 30 years.
>> Final year graduate candidates are also apply for this examination.

Upper age Relaxation is only applicable for SC, ST, OBC And Other Reserved Category Candidates.

For SC and ST Candidates - 5 years

For OBC Candidates - 3 years.

>> General Candidates will gets Only 4 attempts, OBC - 7 and There is No attempts applicable for SC, ST Candidates, They will appeared many times in this examination.

IPS - Indian Police Service. The exam is conducted by UPSC and is held every year.It is one of the Indian civil service exam.

The age limits for the exam is that the candidate must have between 21-30 years.For sc/st candidates it is 35 years and for obc candidates it is 33.

Ex-servicemen will get 5 more years exemption from the prescribed age limit The date of birth accepted by the Commission is that entered in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or in a certificate recognized by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in an extract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University, which extract must be certified by the proper authority of the University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate.

with 55% mark .
*the age limit 22- 32 yrs.
*final year student are also can apply for this exam .
there is some age relaxation for sc/st & obc candidates...
this exam is conducted under upsc it occurs twice in a year.

Relaxation :- Age relaxation is given to the various reserved categories

Five years relaxation is given to the SC/ST candidates.(21 years to 35 years).

To become an IPS officer you need to take the civil service examination.Civil service examination is conducted by UPSC once a year to select students for IPS,IAS post .The examination is divided into two phases

1.Preliminary
2.Main

You will be able to take main exam only if you will clear the preliminary examination .

ELIGIBILITY:

You must have bachelor’s degree of a recognised university.
Final year graduate candidates can also apply for this examination

If you belongs to general category then you should be between 21-30 years of age and for SC/ST upper age limit is 35 years and 33 for OBC .

The general category students can take this exam only 4 times whereas OBC students can take 7 times and there is no limit fo SC/ST students .

here i am giving the age limit criteria for appearing to IPS exam.

1) lower age limit is 21 years.
2) upper age limit is 30 years
3) OBC category candidates have the relaxation of 3 years more than the upper age limit.
4) candidates belongs to sc/st category have the relaxation of 5 years more than the upper age limit.

Hi, minimum age required is 21 you would have attained it by the completion of your degree maximum age limit is 30. Age relaxation is 5 years for st and sc. Three years for bc candidates. You need to have cracked the upsc exam before it or else you won't be able to write the exam. Cracking the paper requires general knowledge.
