What is the cut off marks of mechanical engg. for general?

you can get mechanical in NIT Srinagar upto the rank of 15000
in mewar university upto 20000
upto 32000 u can get it in non famous colleges too.

for NIT's you state rank should be below 400

Dear friend it depends from state to state and it also depends on the colleges.

If you have a good rank then you can get mechanical engineering in NIT in which everyone wants admission.

If you don't have good rank then you can look for private universities like Lovely Professional University, manipal university etc.

you have chance to get a seat in NIT's in mechanical engineering upto 15000 rank ,but you if your rank is more then 15000 then you can also get a seat in 2nd round.
even there is a concept of on the spot admission in the left over seats,just keep a track of notices in newspapers after the counselling is completed.

We can not predict the exact cut off ,marks in the entrance exam but it is sure that if you got AIR less then 14000 then you may get chance in any of the NIt's.

The cut off marks varies every year,and also it variess for every college.

But if your rank is more then 14000 and less then 50000,then also you will get the private colleges i the AIEEE counseling.So go accordingly.

for getting admission in nit, your rank must be below 15000. But if it is greater than this, then you can try in private colleges. If you are seeking admission any specific college then you must see the cut off list of the college.

the cut off marks for the aieee to get mechanical engineering vary depending on the list of the colleges for nits to get the mechanical your rank should be within 10000.

in aieee for getting mechanical in good colleges like nits your rank should be within 7000 so that you can chose for the college of your choice

AIEEE is a national level exam ,so there is more competition in that exam.
in general you can get admission in NIT colleges,for this you have to score between 15000,

to get admission in any other common colleges you have to score than 35000-45000 for Mechanical engineering .

I am sorry to say that the cutoff marks are not known to any one for AIEEE exam.its because its a competitive exam and the cutoff is not at all fixed.but i can say that you have to get an all India rank of less than 10,000 to get Mechanical branch into any of the NIT.

this year the cuttoff marks is very low as compare to the previous year.

and it varies every year.

but it was expected that if you will solve only the 25% of the total marks then you can cross the cut off marks.

it depends on the college you want to take admission in
also it depends on the state you belong,because in some states there is very less competition and in some huge competition is there like state of andhra pradesh,
on an general note if you get an rank of below 1000 you can get mechanical engineering beacuse these days there is huge demand for it

The admission in Mechanical engineering through AIEEE is not by marks but by rank obtained by you.

As per my knowledge after recession the branch mechanical engineering is most demanded & in this year all NIT was full near about the rank of 7000 for general catagories.

So, if you want to take admission in B.Tech in mechanical engineering through AIEEE, then you have to crack AIEEE with approx rank 5000 for good NIT like trichi,suratkal,Allahabad,Jamshedpur etc.

Otherwise there are so many colleges , you can take admission after obtaining lower rank also.

you haven't mentioned about the name of college in which you want to take admission .

but if you want to take admission in top NITs then you have to score all India rank within 10000 (approx.).

by getting this rank you can get admission in any engineering college in mechanical engineering.

see, if you want to get admission in NITS, then you have to get rank within 10000.

if you do get rank within 25000. then you will get good govt colleges.

forr NITS allindia rank around 20,000 is just ok...But try for more if possible..hard work is needed..

for getting in an NIT like Warangal or Trichy
you must cross atleast 240 or so..............

@ramnath... u dont NEED to have 12000 rank or below to get an nit. if u check las years cutoffs, even top NITs like warangal, surathkal, trichy n nagpur go upto 22K-23K.. for general, but there will be practically no room for branch choice, so if u r college specific, even 23K n if from same state, around 27K can get u a seat, of course in mining and metullurgy... so speaking seats, yes 22K for general is enough. but if u want a good branch n good college, under 10K is a must.. some where even under 5K
