The NEET exam is a single entrance examination which allows all class XII students to get admission in medical colleges all over India. This exam also covers private medical colleges. Heir will be single merit list which will be made on a national level for almost 35,000 MBBS seats, which will consider state, minorities and SC/ST quotas. The candidates applying for management quota must also come from the national merit list. The UG courses of AIIMS and PG Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh are empted from exempted from NEET, as these two institutes are under separate laws, which need to be amended from Parliament. Rest of the colleges take up candidates from NEET merit list.

It is too late MCI has come upwith this decison . Already many notifications started. Also it is not yet known the pattern ( syllabus to cover all boards of india ,whether there will be Prelims & Mains or only one ,no ofquestions , negative marking if any , etc ) .Had this decision come early this would have been beneficial to students

AIIMS, PGI CHANDIGRAH AND AFMC DO NOT COME UNDER NEET AS THEY COME UNDER A SEPERATE LAW.....NEET will include all colleges in INDIA aipmt only had a small quota in all colleges....NEET will include all colleges under the mci so as to provide uniformity in the admission and eligibility criteria.Seperate lists will be prepared based on the state ranks of students and the quotas will still apply
