I will give my 6th semester B-Tech exams in june . Do my educational qualification qualifies to appear in CDS(2).Please reply

The eligibility is as follows:

1.Indian Military Academy: Degree from a recognized university.
Age limit:19-24yrs.

2.Naval Academy: B.Sc with physics and maths or B.E.
Age limit:19-22yrs.

3.Air Force Academy: B.Sc with physics and maths or B.E.
Age limit:19-23yrs.

4.Officers Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university.
Age limit:19-25yrs.

Final year students can also apply.

I think You are Not eligible for CDS Examination Because you are Pursuing your 6Th Semester engineering Course. CDS Stands for Common Defense Services examination and this examination was Conducted By UPSC Twice in a year.

To apply for CDS Examination you need to complete your Graduation degree course form a recognised University, Final year Graduates candidates are also apply for the CDS Examination. So, When you are Pursuing your Final Year Semester then you are eligible to apply for CDS Examination.

In CDS Examination Candidates may apply for any one of the Academy -

>> IMA
>> OTA
>> Naval Academy
>> Air Force Academy

For IMA and OTA, you need to complete your Graduation in any discipline form a recognised University and To apply for IMA your age should between 19 to 24 years and For OTA your age should between 19 to 25 Years.

>> For Naval Academy and Air force Academy, you need to complete your Graduation degree course with Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects, B.sc And Engineering Candidates are also apply for this examination.

The Notification of CDS Examination was Published in the employment Newspaper OR in the UPSC website, eligible candidates may apply for CDS Examination Online By visit the official website. The Next year CDS Examination Dates and Schedules are Updated, So please check the UPSC website for Complete Information about CDS 2012 Examination -

Indian Military Academy 19-23 Years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years

All the papers are of objective type.

Subject Marks
English 100 marks
General Knowledge 100 Marks
Elementary Mathematics 100 Marks
Total 300 marks


Officers' Training Academy

sorry friends you are not eligible for CDS (2) exam because only final years or completing graduation candidates can appear for this exam.so, you are not eligible.

Sorry the examination was already completed.If you are interested apply for the next year of examination.

C.D.S means Combined Defence Academy Examination.

C.D.S examination can be divided various course :- Air force,Army,Navy and Officer Training Academy examination.

Military Examination :-

The candidate must be citizen of India and unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the examination.The candidate need to complete degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final semester of degree course can also apply for the examination.The age should be 19 years to 24 years.

Navy Examination :-

The candidate must be citizen of India and unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the examination.The candidate need to complete graduate degree or engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final semester of degree course can also apply for the examination.The age should be 19 years to 22 years.

Air force :-

The candidate must be citizen of India and unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the examination.The candidate need to complete bachelor's degree or engineering from a recognized university or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final semester of degree course can also apply for the examination.Physics and mathematics in 12th level examination.The age should be 19 years to 23 years.

Officer Training Academy Examination :-

The candidate must be citizen of India and unmarried male or female candidates are eligible to apply for the examination.The candidate need to complete graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification and those who are appearing in the final semester of degree course can also apply for the examination.The age should be 19 years to 25 years.

As per your educational qualification you are eligible to appear for Combine Defence Services (CDS)examination.

CDS examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice in a year in the month of August and February. To be eligible for exam, the candidate must be male and unmarried Indian within the age limit of 19 to 23 as on the date of joining. The candidate must have a graduation degree in any stream. Final year/ semester appearing students may also apply provisionally for the examination.

Since final year/semester appearing students may also apply for the exam, therefore you are also eligible for the examination.
