Sir, I am doing B.Ed in Tamilnadu open university. Am I eligible for TET and TRB? And other teaching-related entrance exams? Can someone please provide me with the needed information as soon as possible? Hope that I will get the answer from here. Thanks!

Yes, you are eligible to apply for TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) exam conducted by TRB (Teacher Recruitment Board) after completing your B.ED (Bachelors of Education) degree. Tamil Nadu state teacher recruitment board conduct TET exam to recruit eligible candidate for the post of teacher every year. Here below are details regarding TET exam:-

• There are two papers in TET exam namely TET Paper I and TET Paper II.

Details Regarding TET Paper I:-

- To apply for TET Paper I minimum qualification required to apply is 10+2 along with diploma in Teacher education/ Elementary education from government recognized institute.

- TET paper I is based on subjects like Child development and pedagogy, Languages (English, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu), Mathematics, Environmental studies.

- TET paper I consists of 150 questions and carries 150 marks that is 1 marks for each question.

Details Regarding TET Paper II:-

- To apply for TET Paper II minimum qualification required is bachelors degree (That is B.A/B.SC/B.Com etc.) with Tamil,English,Mathematics,Physics,Chemistry,Botany ,Zoology,Geography along with bachelors degree in education from government recognized institute.

- TET paper II consists of 150 question and carries 150 marks.

- The candidate should have completed graduation level degree in any related stream from any recognized university.
- The candidate should also have studied B.Ed with 55% from any recognized university.
- The age should be between 21 - 30 years. There is age relaxation for reserved candidates based on the government rules.

TRB (Teachers Recruitment Board) is conducted once in every year. The eligibility requirements for the exam are mentioned below.

Eligibility criteria for TRB:
- The candidate should have completed masters level degree with 55% from any recognized university.
- The graduation and masters should be done in same stream.
- The upper age limit is 57 years. There is age relaxation for reserved candidates based on the government rules.

Tamil Nadu open university is a recognized university of India whose degree is valid for entrance exams of government jobs and higher studies courses. It enjoys both UGC and DEC approval.

You can apply for Teacher Eligibility Test and TRB after completion of bachelors from this university. Minimum. academic qualification required is bachelor's degree.

Dear sir, i have completed my 12th in 1999. But i cleared my 12th arrears paper in mar 2001 only. Before that i joined undergraduate course in madras university and completed by oct 2003. Did my certificate can valid for tet exam.
