The Group I exam, conducted by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, comprise of various posts and being a graduate doesn't makes the candidate eligible for all the posts. Specific requirements for certain posts have been mentioned below.

The examination is conducted for recruitment of candidates for the following posts:
Deputy Collector
Deputy Superintendent of Police
District Registrar
Assistant Commissioner - Commercial Tax Officer (only Commerce or law graduates are considered eligible)
Assistant Director of Rural Development Department (Candidates holding post graduate degree in the relevant discipline are only considered eligible)
Divisional Officer in the Fire and Rescue Services


For the Post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Divisional Officer in the Fire and Rescue Services, candidates must have the minimum height of 165 cms.

Candidates, apart from holding the required degree, need to be within the age limit of 21-30 years. The maximum age limit is relaxed upto 5 years for candidates belonging to Sc/St category.
