Re: Am I eligible for UPSC exam while doing Computer Science and Engineering?
i think you are talking about Indian engineering service(IES) examination. then you are not eligible for IES as a computer science engineer. the four eligible branch of engineering for IES examination are
Category I—Civil Engineering. Category II—Mechanical Engineering. Category III—Electrical Engineering. Category IV—Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. but if you are talking about civil service examination then you are eligible for the civil service examination. for civil service examination the candidate those have graduation degree from any discipline from any recognized university are eligible. so after completion of engineering or in the last year you will be eligible for civil service examination. but you must fulfill other eligibility criterion also. for more UPSC examination visit the website http://www.upsc.gov.in to fill up online application form visit the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in the last date of form fill up for civil service examination is 21st March, 2011. here i am attaching the notification for Indian engineering services. go through the attachment for eligibility criterion and other details. |

Re: Am I eligible for UPSC exam while doing Computer Science and Engineering?
Well, UPSC conducts exams for various jobs in the Government of India.
primarily students are concerned with The Engineering Service Exams and the The Civil Service Exam. The eligibility criteria for both is: Age Limit: Minimum 21 Years of age as on 1st August of the year of exam. Educational Qualification: Minimum Graduation degree. For Engineering service, you require and engineering degree. Also, if you are a final years student, then also you can apply. Now The Engineering Service exam is conducted for the following 4 categories: 1.Civil Engineering 2.Mechanical Engineering 3. Electrical Engineering 4.Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering As you are a computer science student, you can appear for the exam, but i think it would be difficult for you to cope with the above subjects. Coming to Civil Service, you are eligible, provided you are a final year student. The same applies to Engineering Services also. |
