Hi, My name is sumit verma. i want to know if there is any minimum percentage required for appearing in Civil Service Exam. i have completed my graduation in 2006 but i had a gap of three years. am i eligible?

There is no such specific rule for it,but it doesnt means at 40% scorer will be able to be an IAS officer.

Good percentage and talent is always a priority for civil services.

It is better if You must have score minimum 50% aggregate in your bachelor degree.

However,your performance in entrances will play a major role there.

However,dont waist time in thinking all these,if you really want to crack civil service exams then even utilize a single minute.

no there is no requirement for minimum marks for appearing in this exam no need to worry just concentrate in your exam.

no there is specific cut off marks for appearing in the Civil Service Exams mentioned in there official site......they give admission /job on the basis of marks scored in the exam.....

for appearing in ies examination there is not such a minimum percentage of marks for the students,
but the candidate must passed or in final year of b.teck or equivalent.

U concentrate more in ur prelims and main score rather than ur aggregate in UG. U need only pass percentage in UG...

the minimum percentage for appear in civil service exam is 45% in graduation with any discipline.that means just pass in graduation is required.

year gap is not a constraint for appear in civil service exam. you can give exam.

but for general candidates the maximum allowable age is upto 30 years.

for obc candidates it is upto 33 years.

A minimum percentage is required in the Civil Service Exams examination and it should be 60% for the general category students.

remember one thing that for any good examination there will always requirement of the percentage there must be a percentage boundation after all intelligent students should always get the priority.

actually there is no requirement of the number,
just complete your graduation then apply for the UPSC exam
but some colleges are required more than 50% in the Bachelor degree.

I am doing my final year in graduation.. i didn't score good in the 1st two years because i didn't study much then. its my mistake.
but now i am giving all my time in my studies. though i wouldn't be able to cover up a good percentage because of my past record...
i wanna go for the civil services. so could anyone please tell me is there any minimum percentage required for civil services??
because i have seen in the news paper's advertisements regarding the bank's examinations. they ask for a minimum of 60%.
please help me out!

Hey there's nothing as such that you need to have a required percentage to go through Civil service examination which recently turned out to be CSAT(Civil Service Aptitude Test).

You just need to be a graduate and with age group from 21-30 years.But having a good percentage will always benefit you.

You need to only have a degree from a recognised University or equivalent.

1. A Graduate from recognised university/college of India
2. Age Limit 21-30 Years.
No requirement of minimum marks in class 10th or 12th or in graduation is required for the exam.

According to eligibility criteria of Civil Services examination there are no
limit percentage in graduation is required for the appear in the civil services exam. only graduation passed student can apply for Civil services exam and the age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of IPS exam.

There is no percentage restriction in I.A.S exam.

I.A.S exam exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream fron recginiced university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For ST/SC category:- 21-33 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

Dear Friend ,

There is no any provision of minimum percentage of marks required for civil services exams ad these exams just require pass certificate but it does not mean that if you are getting 30-405 marks , then it is better for you because civil services exams are tough and if you have not a good academic record , then it will hurt you a lot at the time of interviews .

So , don`t be worry about percentage but at the same time try to get good marks to keep yourself always in a reputable position.
