Yes there is lots of scope in correspondence course. These days many of them are opting for correspondence courses are they are a good option for working professionals.

However some companies have a certain eligibility criteria in which they only accept regular students not the correspondence students.

But still there are some companies which do accept the correpondence holders

You can do your degree in correspondence engineering from IGNOU as its considered the best

In engineering will have lot of practicals and theoretical, that wise engineering course is so important now days.

If you do correspondence course, you will be not having any concept or practical knowledge.

But companies need practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge, because of this reason companies never recruit the correspondence course candidates.

As you said you want to do correspondence course in mechanical engineering. To have concepts of mechanical subjects, you should do some practicals. As you purse in correspondence course you will not get any practical orientated concept.

SO BETTER TO DO MECHANICAL ENGINEERING IN REGULAR THAN CORRESPONDENCE.

If you are work in some other company, you want to purse the engineering for higher promotion.
It is better to purse
-because you are not having time to do
-you have job security
