Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
This decision can be taken only by you. Both the streams have good number of opportunities. It all depends on the job profile you are interested in. If you take B.Com it will be more finance oriented. BCA on the other hand is more Computer Application oriented.

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
Hey,
If your interested in computers and IT BCA is a good field but these days BCA has lost importance as you have so many other degrees BCA is a very old fashioned and outdated course. If your interested in accounts, tax analysis and more of management of financial services BCOM is best. Either way if your peformance is good job's will come! I highly suggest you sit down and discuss your interests with your parents before taking admission!! All the Best!!! |

truely speaking B.Com is useless until u get the top college so its better if u opt for BCA...
B.com is basically for them who just want to have any bachelors degree in their hand |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
From BCA and B.com, if you have a jobs perspective both in government and in private sector, go with BCA as it has much better opportunities for getting a job even after graduating and if u do MCA that will be the best for u as you'll become eligible for much more jobs. And nowadays BCA is much in demand both in government and private sector.
Besides if u want to become a CA or CS. I would recommend you to go with B.com as this is much close and relevant graduation course for these jobs. |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
In B.com you will face subjects like Accountancy, maths etc...that you have already faced in 12th.
And in BCA you will learn computer related subjects along with maths. The emphasis is on computer. Its upon your interest that what you want to choose....B.com or BCA. After B.com you can go for M.com or MCA as further studies. After BCA you can go for MCA or MBA. So both are good as far as job and career are concerned. So basically, everything depends upon your own interest. |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
After +2 Both The Courses Are Good, But Both Are Different.
One Course Focus On Computer And Another Was Focus On Accounts. So, If You Are Intrested To Make Your Career In Management Field, Then B.com Is Best Option But, If You Are Intrested To Make Your Career In Computer Field, Then BCA Is Best Course. The Scope Of Both The Courses Are Good. But After Completing One of These Course, You have To Do Your Master Degree Course In The Same Field, Only Then You Will Get Good Jobs In Top Companies. So, Please Choose Courses According To Your Interest, So That You Dont Face Any Problem In Future. |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
Hii..
well it totally depends on your own choice whether in which stream you are interested and in which stream you could make your thorough command. your also depends on the kind of subject you were having. if i would give my personal opinion then i would like to advise to you opt for B COM. since in the case of BCA you have to go through a rigorous hard work since the demand to student ratio in BCA is getting less as the BE BTECH in comuters and IT are being given the more preference. and in B com. there are certain entries with which you could achieve a higher mark of success . |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
Hey friend,
The choice of joining in B.com or BCA is fully dependent on your choice. While i will explain about them,B.com- Bachelor of commerce where it is fully based on maths. If you are interested in maths and have a good scoring in maths in 12th you can choose it. You can certainly choose M.com after B.com to get a more value of the subjects. If you graduated with good marks in university at year end,you will be able to get good banking jobs in different banks or choose to become a CA- Charted accountant. While in the case of BCA-Bachelor of Computer Application you will surely have a good future as a software engineer and enter into software companies as a program analyst, testing, etc. This course is fully based on computer languages and applications, designing and maths as an allied. After BCA you can do MCA in a good university to get a good scope of your subject.Certainly you will have good chance of working in software companies. You must have known about computers and should have written a paper on computers in 12th and should have got good marks in it and as well as in english. Then you will be able to study this course. So i have mentioned you briefly about the two cources you are concerned with.So now it is your time to take the decision. Thank you and all the best. |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
Hi friend.
After 12th you can do any thing. Its of your choice. If you want to take BCA you must have taken computer science in 12th. If you want to take Bcom you must have taken commerce group in 12th. According to me both of them have more choices. But if you take Bca you will get more competitors and you must have talent face it. competition will be less in BCOM when compared to BCA. From the above notes i hope you clearly knows which is good for you. |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
It is not possible to say one is good and other one is not good between BCA and B.Com.
Both are good courses and they are having their own scope and job opportunities. What matters a lot is how an individual successfully completes the course and make full utilize of the course for his future career. So I would suggest you to choose the one which you are interested and where you have some knowledge. B.Com candidates generally after the completion of their graduation, they may go for MBA. Myself i would suggest to go for B.Com. Because this course is having good demand these days. MBA candidates have opportunities in all the business sectors. But if you much interest in Computers, Choose BCA |

B.Com or BCA both are Better choice after 12th standard, but B.com will be better choice, because after B.Com you can go for MCA,MBA,CA, M. Com etc But after BCA you can go for MCA, so you can say after BCA scopes are limited. only computer is open. So I would like to suggest you to go for B.Com. All the best............ |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
As stated earlier, at the 10 + 2 level you have three options:
1. The Science Stream 2. The Arts/Humanities Stream and 3. The Commerce Stream. In Addition, there is the Vocational Stream. The Subjects offered in these streams are given in the Annexure. One problem you may face while choosing the combination of subjects is that the desired one may not be available in many 10 + 2 level institutions (higher secondary schools and junior colleges) Particularly in rural areas. A brief account of each of the streams follows: Science There is a common belief that science is the most important subject, compared to humanities or even commerce. There is also a general feeling in our society that the best students opt for science. This is an assumption of most parents, students and teachers. In fact, brilliance and intelligence is not the exclusive preserve of science. If a student is interested in doing engineering courses, such as civil, mechanical, electronics, metallurgy, computers, the option should be for a combination of mathematics, physics and chemistry (MPC). If you wish to take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology), the combination should be biology, physics and chemistry (BiPC). It is true that the advantage of choosing science stream is that you can shift to the other two streams viz., humanities and commerce after 10 + 2. It also opens up the gateway to a large number of career and course options, even if you cannot make it to the most coveted courses in engineering, medicine or agriculture. In several universities, particularly in the South, besides the usual combinations, such subjects as microbiology, computer science can be chosen at the BSc level. Apart form doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management. You can also opt for courses outside the university stream, such as hotel management, fashion technology, industrial design, packaging, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses and a host of post 10 + 2 level vocational courses. However, if you are very clear that science is not your cup of tea, there is no point in wasting two precious years simply because it keeps many options open. It would rather be desirable to explore the opportunities the other fields offer. Arts/Humanities It is not widely appreciated that humanities also offer many options after 10 + 2 other than the usual BA degree course. Except for courses in science and technology areas, they can take up many other courses such as travel & tourism, advertising, journalism, performing arts, business management, etc. Humanities is also the favourite choice of many students who sit for the civil service examinations. Commerce Next to science, commerce stream opens up a variety of options after 10 + 2 stage. Some examples are: company secretary-ship, chartered accountancy, cost accountancy, business management, computer. Although chartered accountancy, cost accountancy or company secretary-ship course can be taken up after 10 + 2 (after successfully completing the Foundation Courses) you should be aware that each year only a small percentage of those who take the examinations get through. It may, therefore, be wise to obtain the basic BCom degree first. BCom with Computer as one of the combinations is now a much sought after course In all the three streams, students can now opt for job-oriented vocational subjects at the first degree level available in selected colleges affiliated to many universities. Another recent development has been the diversification of courses, professional in nature, at the first-degree level itself, although the number is institutions offering such course is still small. International postgraduate programmes of five-year duration after 10 + 2 in several subjects are being introduced by some universities Whatever stream you may select, you should put in your best efforts, which would surely lead to the path of success. Obtaining high marks in the qualifying examinations will put you in a comparatively better position to get into the course of choice after the 10 + 2 level. Summary The conclusion we can get from the above discussion is that every subject has its own importance. So, one should think widely to choose a career. After answering to so many viewers comments,i just want to request you to post your email id in the comment. So that it would be easy or me to answer your query. Today there may be good future,in future.. it may not have that importance. So, all the best for the future. VOTE UPVOTE DOWNSHAREPRINT |

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
Since you are not interested in both Mathematics and Book keeping commerce is not a stream suitable for you. BMS in its course structure does have both these areas. But since its Management related course it will have other areas too. If any of those areas interest you then you can take this course. Like other graduation courses the duration is 3 years. You may need to appear for entrance exams for the same. The course will give you a basic training in areas like HRM, Marketing etc. You still have the option to change streams if you are not comfortable in Management studies. You can still go in for Arts stream or go in for creative areas like interior designing etc. Make sure to select a stream which you will be comfortable in and which match your aspirations.

Re: B.Com or BCA: Better choice after 12th standard?
After +2, you are eligible to take Bachelor of Management Studies course. This is a 3 year long course offered in several institutions in the country. The BMS course is structured as to craft well trained management professionals in to the cooperate world. With a BMS degree candidates can further go in to higher studies option if they like which includes MBA or MMS. Another option available for you after BMS is to go for non-managerial courses like accounting, mass communication etc. You can also take up other courses like B.Com, BBA, etc. BCA is not an option for you as it requires math’s as a compulsory paper in +2 levels. After a degree from a reputed college the candidate can also look for join in various sectors. This includes HR, Management, Sales, and Jobs in PSU, banking firms and even in research and development field.

BMS is three year bachelor degree course.
Any student which passed his 12th class with non medical field can apply for BMS. There is entrance exam for BMS so you need to give that entrance exam for taking admission in BMS,. BMS is good course and job Opportunities are also good in this field. You can look for Management and Banking after BMS. |
