Is B.Ed compulsory for the post of PGT?

Hi, I have done M.Tech in Electrical Engineering. I haven't done B.Ed. Can I apply for PGT? Or, do I need to do B.Ed first? And, when is the entrance examination going to be conducted?

Yes, it is mandatory to have bachelor or diploma in education qualification to become eligible to appear for PGT examination.

So, if you do not have the required qualification then you must pursue the course to become eligible to appear for PGT recruitment examination.

Examination is conducted by NTA for CTET while state education board conduct for the STET.

For detail information regarding the examination visit the official notification.

As per govt rule, for the PGT position candidate should have a master's degree(any discipline) with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university. B. Ed is also a compulsory requirement for this position.
