IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. The academic qualification for Civil Services exam is bachelor's degree in any stream. As you have completed Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering, you can apply for this exam in 2018. The minimum age is 21 years.

The academic calendar is not uploaded on UPSC website for 2018. You must check it when it is uploaded. Date of notification is mentioned in calendar. When notification comes, candidates who meet academic criteria can apply for the exam at its official website.

This exam requires hard plus smart work. You can start your preparation through NIOS, NCERT, IGNOU books for social science. Good coaching institutes are Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy. You can join its June Batch for better preparation.
