Those who can get through their screening process can receive CTC up to Rs.4 lakhs at entry level itself. Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Hindustan Insecticides Ltd, etc are some other firms where Instrumentation and Control (I & C) engineers are often recruited to trainee level positions. HIL offers stipend up to Rs.20, 000/- per month for selected candidates.

Various IIT’s and other reputed institutions are recruiting B.Tech holders in I & C engineering to the position of ‘Project Associate’. Aspirants working in this profile can earn up to Rs. 41,000/- per month. Banking sector is another work area suitable for B.Tech holders in I & C. Here, they can apply for the position of Specialist Officer/Probationary Officer and can receive up to Rs. 40,000/- per month as salary.

State government departments, Coast guard, railways, etc also offer adequate career opportunities. Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd has recently invited applications for the position of Junior Engineer. I & C engineers below 35 years and with at least 60% marks can apply to the position. Salary package offered to the position is Rs. 34800/- per month. For ‘Assistant Commandant’ position in Indian Coast Guard, selected candidates can earn between Rs. 15600/- and Rs.39100/- per month. Private sector companies like Accenture, Huawei Technologies and Cognizant (CTS) often selects I & C engineers to technical positions through on campus/off campus recruitments.
