Re: BCA or B.Sc, which will be more suitable and helpful for pursuing MCA later on?
Both these Bachelor of Computer Application and B.Sc in Computer Science courses are almost the same as far as further career opportunities are concerned.
But specifically BCA course would be the best and suitable course for those who are willing to pursue higher studies and especially Master of Computer Application. The main reason of pursuing BCA for MCA is, you will be finding almost the same and next advanced subjects in MCA course. Hence, I would suggest you to pursue BCA course in order to pursue MCA course and after completion of the course you may find employment opportunities in Government sector, private sector as well as in software sector. |

Re: BCA or B.Sc, which will be more suitable and helpful for pursuing MCA later on?
MCA refers to Master of Computer Application and as the name suggests same is a professional master degree course with a very good career scope in software world.
As far as you are concerned about the better option between BCA ( Bachelor of Computer Science ) and B.Sc. ( Bachelor of Science ) degree course in order to pursue MCA degree course later then as per my advise the best option among the two is the BCA as it is more relevant to the MCA degree course and hence will be more helpful when you go for MCA degree course as compared to B.Sc. degree course. |

Re: BCA or B.Sc, which will be more suitable and helpful for pursuing MCA later on?
BCA stands for Bachelor of Computer Applications and B.Sc stands for Bachelor of Science.
Both the courses are 3 year Graduation courses being offered by most of the colleges in India. As per eligibility to MCA course, you are eligible to join MCA course soon after completion of any of these courses. There is not much difference between both the courses. But, candidates will be equipped with more software/programming knowledge in BCA course compared to B.Sc course. But in B.Sc course, some additional areas will also be covered like hardware and data structures etc. So, the decision is upto you to decide the respective course. If you are more interested in Programming and want to see yourself as a software programmer, you can opt for BCA course. Otherwise you can go for B.Sc Computers. Generally, candidates can get direct admission for both these courses in most of the colleges just on the basis of marks scored in 10+2. However some top colleges will conduct Entrance Exam to give admission. I would suggest you to list out the top colleges which are offering your chosen course. Choose the best among them based on parameters like experienced faculty, good lab facilities and campus placements. Check with the college the regarding the admission process and submit your application form accordingly. To join MCA course, there would be Entrance Exam. Each and every will conduct its own Entrance Exam to give admission for MCA course. I would suggest you to prepare for the Entrance Exam from the very beginning of your final year course so that there is a scope for you to get top rank in the Entrance Exam. |

If you want to pursue MCA later after completing their graduation then definitely BCA is the best option for you. At graduation level you should pursue BCA because it will help you to build up your basics and you will not have any problem in MCA. So this is my strong suggestion to you to persue BCA.

When you want to pursue Master's degree in computer application then without any hesitation you should opt for Bachelor of Computer application.
Other than graduation, mathematics at 12th level is compulsory to pursue MCA course from a recognized board. You can apply for NIMCET and JAM for admission in top colleges of MCA. |
