Hello, I am going to take Commerce in 11th standard. I also want to join Merchant Navy. So, I just want to know that what subject combination I should take in 11th Commerce for the same? Waiting for your response!

NDA is National Defence Academy and it is conducted for recruitment of candidates in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The eligibility to appear in examination for recruitment in Indian Navy is that candidate must have passed 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

So, candidates pursuing in commerce stream are not eligible to appear in examination for recruitment in Indian Navy.

I must tell you that if you want to join Merchant Navy then you are not eligible to join Merchant Navy after passing out 12th standard with commerce stream.
I would like to suggest you to opt for science stream having subject combination of physics, chemistry and mathematics then only you will be eligible to appear in NDA examination and on qualification you will get to join the Merchant Navy.

Eligibility criteria for Merchant Navy:

Candidate must have passed 10+2 with PCM from a recognized board.

Age must be less than 20 years

Candidate must be unmarried.

Candidate must be an Indian.

For Merchant Navy jobs it is compulsory to have 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main paper.

So, you are not eligible to appear for examination to get recruitment after 12th in Commerce stream.

For recruitment in Merchant Navy the required qualification is that :-

Candidate must have passed 12th from a recognised board.

Candidate must have passed 12th in PCM as a main paper.

Candidates have to qualify in all the stages for their final selection.

So , student with commerce stream are not eligible to appear for Merchant Navy examination.
