Sir, I'm in my final year of BA Arts. l want to join Indian Military Services. Is it possible? Am I eligible? If yes, then how should I proceed to apply for it? If not, then what should I do to make myself eligible?

Being a student of final year of BA ( Bachelor of Arts ) degree course, you are certainly eligible for joining Indian Military Services i.e; Indian Army as far as the educational requirement for the same is concerned.

Further, to join the same you need to qualify CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) examination held by UPSC twice every year to join IMA wing of CDS.

--> The minimum qualifications required to join Indian Military Academy are as below :-

* You must hold the citizenship of India.

* Your age must lie within 19 years to 24 years.

* You must have completed your bachelor's degree course in any discipline from a recognized university. Students pursuing final year of their degree course are also eligible.

* You must hold the physical fitness as per the service requirement norms.

Arts stream candidates can apply for Indian Military Academy exam called Combined Defence Services exam.

The eligibility criteria for CDS exam:

1. Graduation in any stream from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can apply for the exam.

2. Age limit for IMA is 19-24 years. You are eligible for OTA also.

There are two stages written test and SSB.

Yes, you can appear for CDS examination and after qualifying in both stages of examination will become eligible for recruitment as an officer in Indian Army.

The eligibility to appear in the examination is that candidate must have passed or pursuing in bachelor degree from a recognised university. The age limit is 19-25 years.
