My Self Deepak Sharma. Age 21(19/05/91). My Qualification is 12 Pass in Arts Subject and 2 Year Automobile engineering Course from ITI(Industrial Training Institute) . Now my Question is " Can i eligible for join Indian Army Or Indian Military Academy?" And "How's It possible to join?"

A candidate can apply for the Indian Army after the 10+2 through as an officer through National defence academy examination (NDA). The NDA examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian Army, Air force and Navy. The eligibility required for the National defence academy examination is given below:

Education Qualification
Candidate applying for the National defence academy examination should be 10+2 pass. Candidate applying for the Indian Air force and Navy should have physics and maths at 10+2. Those appeared in the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply for the national defence academy examination.

Age Limit
Foe the National defence academy examination candidate age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

Indian Army can be joined depending upon one's academic and age qualification through basically two ways:-

NDA - National Defence Academy
CDS Combined Defence Service

To be eligible to join Indian Army through NDA, one must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years of age with good physical fitness.

As you have crossed the maximum age of 19 years you are not eligible to apply for NDA though you have completed 12th.

To join Indian Army through CDS, one must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical and Mental health.

So to join Indian Army through CDS you should have completed Graduation within the age of 19 to 24 years.

Procedure of Joining into Indian Army through NDA Examination

Information about NDA : -

** NDA Stands for National Defence Academy

** This examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission in yearly twice i.e. NDA - I & NDA - II

Eligibility Criteria for NDA : -

There are two ways to join indian army and military academy i.e NDA exam CDS exam but Iam sorry to say this you are not eligible for both these exams because for the NDA exam you are crossed the age limit and for CDS exam you have not sufficient educational qualification i.e the minimum educational qualification is graduation.


NDA exam details:-

The candidate should be complete 12th standard from a recognised state board.

Only unmarried male candidates are eligible i.e girls are not eligible.

The age limits are 16.5 years to 19years.

The candidate should be a citizen of india and physically fit.


CDS exam details:-

The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.

The candidate should be a citizen of india.

The candidate must be physically fit.

Male and female both are eligible.

The age limits are 19 years to 24years, no age relaxation.

NDA examination stands for the NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY, through which one can apply for the Indian naval academy (NA), air force (IAF)& military(IMA) academies ,.. This NDA exam is conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION (UPSC), for twice in a year.
The minimum educational requirement for this NDA exam is a 12th degree from a recognized board.
So, you can apply for the NDA examination through official page of www.upsc.gov.in

For an Air & naval force aspirant, he must have subjects PHYSICS & MATHS in 12th, with at least 60% (aggregate).Otherwise, you can only apply for the INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY.(IMA)

The age limit for this examination is 16.5-19 years,. For all catgories.

Only male candidates are eligible for the NDA examination.

CDS:-
CDS Examination will held two times a year by The Union Public Service commission.

Graduation with 60% Marks,

You are not eligible either for Indian Army of NDA or Indian Military Academy of CDS as you have crossed the maximum age of 19 years for NDA and you are not eligible for CDS as you are not a Grdauate.

The NDA conducts exam for all the three wings of the Indian defence .
But for the Navy and airforce you need to be a science graduate with PCM subjects .
For commerce and arts students the recruitment is open in the army wingonly.
So you can join the army wing .
