Although NCERT are first choice as it forms the basis for all of the engineering exams.
But it language to tough to comprehend, you can take help of refreshers

Maths- RD sharm, Arihant
Physics-HC verma, pradeep
Chemistry- Ncert is enough, enough theory is given.

My friend, always get reference from your school teachers and coaching teachers before putting your brain in any book because the last thing you want is getting confused to keep that book or not in the middle of the session.Some books which i would suggest are R.D. sharma for mathematics ,Pradeep's for Physics,Golden for english and mere NCERT book will be enough for your chemistry or you can go for Pradeep in this too..

I am providing you a rough idea about following which books should be enough for you to get good score in your 12th boards.

For the Chemistry, the NCERT should be your GOD. Its got everything which is necessary for you to know at this level. So trust it the most.

For Maths you can buy R.D Sharma , R.S Aggarwal , N.C.E.R.T is also good, but just for more practice, you can buy these.

For the Physics you can take Pradeep's publications, NCERT is a bit weird, but you can go through it once.

What kind of books should I use in 11th and 12th

There are various reference books available in market which you can choose in your 11th and 12th which may help your in your entrance examinations as well as in your board examinations. You can study the pradeep's physics, chemistry and biology. Also for mathematics you can study the R.S aggarwal.

If you want to learn deeply and want to make your basics strong then i think you should follow NCERT books as the board exams, competitive exams etc. all follow NCERT books.
Use other books like pardeeps of physics, H.C. verma, DC pandey as guide or for practice.
other guide books are:
For chemistry: O.P tondon, VPM etc.
For maths: R.D. Sharma, M. L. KHanna S.K. Garg etc
