Re: Is Biology compulsory to do B.Tech in Bio-Medical engineering?
Bio medical engineering is a branch of B.E./B.tech course.
For doing this course it is must to have a successfully passed +2 course from a recognised board with good percentile from the PCM background. Biomedical is a branch of this course which can be taken afterward. First you have to take the admission in this course. Your qualifications completes the eligibility criteria of this course. So definitely you can go for the bachelor of engineering or bachelor in technology after completing +2 from PCM background. |

Re: Is Biology compulsory to do B.Tech in Bio-Medical engineering?
For admission in bachelor's degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary examination (10+2) with science subject such as biology, maths, and chemistry. It's mandatory to qualify Joint Entrance exam (JEE) for admission to B.TECH colleges. The duration of the course is for 4 years.
So, yes you need to have biology as one of the subject in 10+2 for doing course in Bio Medical Engineering. |

Re: Is Biology compulsory to do B.Tech in Bio-Medical engineering?
Biology is not compulsory in 10+2 for the candidates who are seeking admission for Bio-medical engineering.
Because, the candidates will have to appear for entrance exam like JEE Main, VITEEE, KITEEE, COMEDK, KEAM, etc. which demand only Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as primary subjects from students. Since, you are a PCM group students, so you can easily appear for these exams. And, after qualifying these exams, you can get admission to Bio-Medical Engineering in your newly admitted college. However, if you had opted for Biology as your additional subject in 10+2, then it could be very fruitful to you for your higher studies. |

Re: Is Biology compulsory to do B.Tech in Bio-Medical engineering?
Biomedical engineering is one of the streams of engineering in which both PCM/PCB candidates are eligible.
If you have done your 10+2 from a recognized board with PCM subjects or PCB subjects then you can apply for the various engineering entrance exams conducted at state and national level for getting admission in top engineering colleges. So, there is no need to take tension, you are eligible with PCM subjects. |
