Re: Which books to prefer for GATE(E.C) entrance exam? Is book by G.K Publisher enough?
Hello,
Well for the GATE preparation nothing is enough. IF you solve all the text books or various years paper or any other kind of study material then you seems that you have done nothing. So prepare as much as you can. GK publication is reputed book for the GATE. IF you can solve all the unsolved questions then it will be ok. But i suggest you took syllabus and do one by one from your text books. This will be better for you. |

Preferable books for GATE exam:
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD THEORY: Follow any standard book. K D Prasad is considered The Bible for this topic of the exam Electromagnetics Hayt http://www.4shared.com/account/file/87922625/f6af87d2/Electromagnetics_6thEdition_HAYTSolutionsManual.ht ml A students guide to Maxwell equations LINK : http://www.freebookspot.in/Books-A%20Student%20s%20Guide%20to%20Maxwell%20s%20Equat ions.htm MEASUREMENTS: Sawhney is the only book. Solve IES EE papers for this topics (a must). Questions are repeated. POWER SYSTEM AND POWER SYSTEM PROTECTION: Ashfaq hussain and Wadhwa for Power Systems. Bardriram-Vishwakarma for PSP. Again IES papers are a must. Electrical Power Systems D.Das (http://www.freebookspot.in/Books-Electrical%20Power%20Systems%202007.htm) CONTROL SYSTEMs: Automatic Control system Kuo is good Modern Control Engineering(Ogata) Link : http://www.freebookspot.in/Books-Modern%20Control%20Engineering.htm Control Systems Engineering, 4th edition (+Solutions Manual) by Norman Nise Link: http://www.freebookspot.in/Books-Control%20Systems%20Engineering,%204th%20edition%2 0(%20Solutions%20Manual).htm DIGITAL ELECTRONICS :I found thomas L Floyd book on digital fundamentals best one. dear friend,
My friend , to qualify in GATE exam, you have to be well in technical papers.. To gather technical knowledge study technical papers throughly.. Beside this you can follow books like- GK publishers GATE.. From where you can solve questions to get an idea about the question pattern in GATE.. So, study technical papers , try to clear all your doubts... Solve numerical problems more to clear your concept.. GK publishers books are well guidance for GATE exam.. Go for it.. All the best. |

Hi friend.
I also appeared 1 time for GATE exam. I studied from G K publishers Book,It's not good because the answers for the questions are wrong. But the Information regarding the topics are good. So dont depend on only that book. read the main subjects like: 1)Network analysis 2)controll system 3)signal system 4)Analog electronics 5)digital circuits etc from the academic books.. because these subjects carries more marks. Good luck regards arun |

No GK is worse book. It is just waste of money and time. Read only RK Kanodia's books. These are excellent books.
