Re: Best books for IIT JEE preparation?
First of all let me wish you all the best for your choice as you have chosen something really good which is to compete for IIT entrance exam.
The entrance exam is considered to be one of the toughest. But if you see the previous year papers the exam is no more considered tough. Books to be used? Well todays market is filled with lots of books from which some are considered really good. I would advice you not to go for each and every book. Better stick to one book and so move on to higher level. Dont overload yourself with lots of books Books are your best friends but studying too many books are really harmful. Trust me. My advice will be to go few books listed below Physics : HC Verma Arihant Publications Chemistry: NCERT (must) Arihant Organic chemistry OP Tondon Mathematics: ML khanna or RD Sharma Arihant These many books are more than enough to crack IIT JEE. Just make it a point to study them seriously and thoroughly. Plan properly and systematically Planning systematically is very important since you have limited time of a year or 2. So manage your time well and study daily. This is very important Dont give up your 11th and 12th portion just for IIT preparation sake. This is a major crime commited by many students those who aim for IIT. Since you are in 11th. I would like to advice you at the start that DONT IGNORE 11th and 12th Studies. Whatever they teach you in school is equally important. So dont ignore it in any case. Try to manage time time accordingly so at the end I would like to wish you all the very best. Follow the above tips and you will surely crack IIT JEE. .:. Pathfinder |

dear friend
These are some best books for the preperation of IIT JEE entrance examinations. So, please check these given books - NCERT-books Concept of Physics-by H.C.Verma Plane Coordinate Geometry- by S.L.Loney IIT-Maths-by M.L.Khanna MCQ Maths-by Das Gupta PHYSICS Part 1&2-by Resnik and Halliday Maths books by K.C.Sinha OR Physics - Concepts of Physics by HC Verma Arihant Publications : D C Pandey series. Chemisry - Organic : Organic Chemistry , Morison & Boyd. Physical Chemistry - OP Tondon Inorganic Chemisty - OP Tondon the above given books are self teaching, you dont need any assistance, every chapter in this books is explained in detail and you will really feel comfortable in subject if you do the exercises and solve the problems of books. IIT - JEE is all about the deep understanding of concepts. So, you need to deeply understand the concepts in every subject. So, please concentrate on the books and always try to solve the question everyday, if you really want to get sucess in IIT-JEE exams. All the best Rahul k |

Re: Best books for IIT JEE preparation?
Hi!
There are lots of book which are specifically published for IIT JEE preparation. But all of them are not useful, some of them just copy the contents of others. The best approach to prepare for IIT JEE would be to study in details all the topic mentioned in the syllabus & for this purpose refer 2 or 3 basic books on each subject like for: Chemistry: Arihant Prakashan - Organic Chemistry NCERT - Chemistry XI & XII O.P. Agarwal - IIT Chemistry Maths: Calculus - J. Edward R. S. Agarwal - Maths XI & XII S.L. Loni - Co-ordinate Geometry Hall & Knight - Higher Algebra Physics: I.E. Irodov - Problems in General Physics H.C. Verma - concepts of Physics Vol I and II |

Re: Best books for IIT JEE preparation?
Hello,
For IIT JEE preperation there are many books available in the market. Studying all of those is no possible as well as of no use. So the best is to go through those books which cover your syllabus and provide a good understanding to you in a simple language. I suggest that you go through the following books for reference: Physics: *H.C.Verma(A Must) *NCERT(A Must) *Arihant Publication Mathematics: *R.D.Sharma and R.S.Agarwal(A Must) *M.L.Khanna(A Must Must) Chemistry: *NCERT(A Must) *O.P.Agarwal These books are the best among the others available as theycover your syllabus and provide understanding of the text in a simple language. The books are available in leading book stores. You can purchase them through the internet too and get attractive discounts on them. Also, make sure you practice a lot of sample paper and give mock tests to assess your preparation. Good Luck!! |

Re: Best books for IIT JEE preparation?
all of those who want to study in iit must see this piece of text .
chemistry - ncert is enough for this scoring and easy subject . dont run after books because for this subject ncert is excellent. read theory carefully. the matter is condensed so reading every line is important . solve the back excercise also . inorganic and physical are excellent . organic is not complete but is excellent . always remember tht jee answers are checked according to ncert . also revise ncert again and again . see nothing else . mathematics - this subject requires thinking rather than books . if you learn a concept , you should make your own questions and all the questions should be solved with one or more methods . learn with your mistakes . think , think and think . tmh is more than sufficient for any mathematics paper in this world physics - this is the subject of maximum focus as its the backbone of engineering . your concepts should be crystal clear . get a tight grip on mechanics . ultimate books are - h.c verma and irodov though you dont require irodov nowdays but still u will fall in love with this book and physics . also solve ncert additional excercises and questions . avoid the theoty part of ncert . your timetable - chemistry daily 45- 60 minutes maths - concepts and tmh 75 minutes . physics - daily 60 - 90 minutes . but after u finished all this sit back and think what u learned and how u can apply it . make your plans and a serious timetable . my friend 3 hours of godd focused study is all u need |

for cracking iit jee exam, not only hard work is required but strategy is also required for preparation. you must first study from ncert books to clear your concept. after that i will suggest you to study from tata mcgraw hills for maths d c pandey for physics arihant for chemistry you must also for once try to solve all the previous years question papers to get the knowledge of pattern and difficulty level of the exam. while solving the sample papers, never see the solution directly. first try to solve the questions by yourself two to three times. if then also you fail, then see the solution. you must remember these tips to get good result. good luck. |

Re: Best books for IIT JEE preparation?
Dear friend,
you can refer to these books: For physics you can refer to H.C.Verma or to D.C. Pandey (Arihant Publication) and I.E.Irodov. For chemistry refer to O.P. Tandon for Physical, Organic and Inorganic chemistry. You can also refer for Dinesh's IIT objective chemistry for good questions for practice. For maths M.L.Khanna, A.D. Gupta, and Arihant Publication You can also get basic help from Pradeep's or Dinesh's or R.D.Sharma. Although you must do NCERT also at least one before going to exam. NCERT chemistry is very helpful in the exam. Good Luck for your preparation. |
