To prepare the SBI clerical or other clerical exams you can follow the following books. I also want to tell you the clerical exams of any banks not hard but they are tricky and lengthy.

Syllabus of SBI Clerical Exam:
1. Reasoning Aptitude (Prefer R.S. Aggarwal)
2. Quantitative Aptitude (Prefer R.S.Aggarwal)
3. English Comprehension ( Any Book)
Note: English tests marks not include in the merit list. Candidates have to only qualify this exam.
4. Marketing / Computer Aptitude (For Computer Use Computer Bible and read only Fundamental portion or For Marketing Aptitude read the all previous papers and Economics aptitude or current affairs)
5. General Awareness (Any Book but also read current affairs)

To qualify the clerical exams of any banks, you have to focus on short methods and try mock papers. Because clerical exam papers are lengthy.
I also want to tell you now from last years for the clerical exam will be conduct by the IBPS and IBPS tests score card will be used by the 19 banks which are associated with the IBPS.

Below I am attaching a pdf file of clerical exam 2011 of IBPS, there you can find all the 19 nationalized banks which accept the IBPS score card for the making merit list and other details of exam. SBI not accept the IBPS score card. It takes its own written test.IBPS score card is valid for one year only. This year again IBPS conduct exams for clerical and PO exam.

SBI Clerk Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

• You should have 60% of marks at 10+2 level to give this exam. For reserved category candidates there is percentage relaxation.
  
• Diploma degree equivalent to class 12 board exam. So it will be accepted only if it's a regular one and its duration is not less than two years.
  
• Bachelor degree students are also eligible to apply. Pass marks at graduation level is more than enough.
  
• Age should vary between 18 and 28 years. There is upper age limit relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
  
• For SC/ST candidates there is age relaxation of 5 years, for OBC candidates it is 3 years and for PH candidates it is 10 years.
  
• You should know how to operate the computer to apply for this post. That is an important criteria.

Examination Pattern:-

In the written exam there will be five sections to answer. It is important to pass in all the sections to get a call for the interview session. Whether you will be called for the interview session or not depends entirely on the number of vacancies available. Final decision though will be taken by assessing your overall performances in both the stages of selection.

Questions will be mainly set from the class XI and XII syllabus. Therefore that needs to be practiced thoroughly. For each section 40 marks each have been allotted and there is negative marking too. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer you give. So be cautious about that.
